Privacy

When you create an account: your email and name, which come from your Google or Apple login, plus your profile photo if you use Google. As you use Kooler, you can fill in a username, bio, Instagram and website, and, if you switch on a bar account, also WhatsApp, address and a reservation link.

We also store what you publish: recipes, photos, comments, reviews and check-ins.

What you favorite, what you keep in your bar, who you follow and who follows you, the comments you make, and the notifications you receive. All of that is tied to your account.

One cookie keeps you signed in, and another remembers whether you've already seen past the read wall. Your browser also stores some drafts and preferences locally: your bar items before they sync, the recipe you're writing before you publish it, and whether you've been through the app's intro.

Usage analytics and navigation recordings are optional, with separate choices that are off by default. You can accept, decline or change your decision using Privacy preferences in the footer, on this page or in settings. We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days, then ask again. Declining does not prevent you from using Kooler. Withdrawal stops new collection but does not automatically delete previously sent data; to request deletion, use the contact in this policy. Attribution and visit measurement also require usage analytics permission.

With your usage analytics permission, we use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand performance and overall site usage. That's aggregated data that doesn't identify any individual person.

We use PostHog to measure visits, pages viewed, interactions (including what you type in search and the venue name when you check in), performance, and errors in Kooler, as well as heatmaps and navigation recordings to understand usability difficulties. It stores an identifier in your browser to recognize repeat visits; when you sign in, we associate these metrics with your account ID and send your username and, when available, email as PostHog profile properties. We do not send your name or photo as profile properties. In recordings, we mask page text and form values and block profile photos. We do not record audio or camera video, console logs, cookies, or network request bodies. Recordings remain available for up to 30 days. PostHog also estimates the city you're browsing from based on your IP address; we never ask for your device's location.

When you arrive through one of Kooler's promotion links, your browser notes where you came from (Instagram, for example). If you create an account, that origin is stored on your profile, visible only to us. We also record which days you opened Kooler while signed in, not what you did there. It tells us which channels bring people who come back.

We use Sentry to know when the site crashes or errors out: it records the browser, the version, and what happened in the code, without anything you typed or your session cookie.

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo to create your Kooler account. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email, which may be an Apple relay address if you choose to hide yours. We don't have access to anything else in those accounts.

If you fill in an address on a bar account, the search goes through our server to Google Places. We don't store that search, only the final address you confirm on your profile.

Recipes submitted by the community may go through AI-powered automatic translation to reach Kooler's other languages.

Your profile, the recipes you submit, your comments, and your list of who you follow and who follows you are visible to anyone who visits Kooler, with or without an account. Your email is never shown publicly.

We use Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel to host the site, PostHog for usage metrics, Sentry for error tracking, Google and Apple for login, Google for address lookup, an email service for internal new-signup alerts, and an AI provider to translate recipes submitted by the community. These services process data on our behalf, under our instructions.

We don't sell your data to anyone.

Our infrastructure providers may process and store data on servers outside Brazil.

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time. Editing your profile lives in Settings.

To delete your Kooler account: sign in on the app or at kooler.me, open Settings, tap Delete account, and confirm by typing your username. If you can't sign in, email hello@kooler.me from the account's email address and we'll delete it for you. Deleting your account removes your profile, the recipes you submitted, favorites, bar items, comments, reviews, check-ins, follow connections, and the photos you uploaded.

If you're in the European Union, these rights correspond to the ones the GDPR guarantees. If you're in Brazil, to the LGPD.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the data tied to it is removed, except for anything the law requires us to keep longer.

Kooler isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from that audience.

We may update this text from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Meaningful changes will be communicated inside the product.
