Sugar syrup
The most common cocktail sweetener: equal parts sugar and water, heated until it dissolves.
Ingredients
- Sugar200 g
- Water200 ml
Method
- Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir occasionally until the sugar fully dissolves. It doesn't need to boil.
- Take it off the heat and let it cool to room temperature before using it: warm syrup melts the ice and waters the drink down. Keep it in a tightly sealed bottle or jar.
Yield
Makes about 300 ml
